2514 | Margaret Crooke gives deposition against Anne Redferne before Justice of the Peace Roger Nowell, alleging that her brother Robert Nutter had a falling out with Redferne at Whitsontide 18 or 19 years before. He fell sick about a fortnight later, and died around Candlemas. Crooke claims to have heard him say often that "Anne Redferne and her associates had bewitched him to death." (O-Ov)
